    Description

    4 full size cello bows made by:
    -"W.E.Hill and Sons" (William C. Retford), with certificate of authenticity. Weight: 80 g
    -Schaefer (Brazil).  Weight: 81 g
    -Sander (Markneukirchen, Germany).  Weight: 77 g
    -unstamped (possibly Brazilian).  Weight: 76 g
    The certificate, by master bow maker and member of the American Federation of Violin and bow makers, reads:
    I hereby certify the cello bow presented to me for expertise is original in all its principal parts.
    In my opinion the stick was made by William C. Retford, circa 1920-30 and bears a stamp “W.E.Hill & Sons” on the stick above the frog.
