Vintage Grandpa Al Laubin English horn AL176. Condition is "excellent”. Minimally played throughout its life. Original owner was a band teacher who played many instruments. 2nd and final owner was me. I was Principal Oboe of an Orchestra in Mexico so I mainly played oboe. This instrument is a treasure and rare find. It has a beautiful sweet projective sound and comes with 1 original Al Laubin bocal. It works really well with many other kinds of bocals. Besides the original Laubin bocal, I prefer my Symer, Dallas & Loree bocals with it. These horns are hard to find. Grandpa Laubin only made a certain number and he is no longer alive. It’s from 1960 but sat I played for the majority of its life. No cracks and it’s been through many temperature changes. This was valued at ,000 in 2019 by the Laubin Company. It has no doubt gone up since then. Due to financial circumstances I must part with this treasure. It has been well loved and cared for. Never had any cracks or major repair issues. Only general maintenance ever needed. Ken Decker has been my main repairman for this instrument. It comes with its original double case. See pictures for case & appraisal. Shipping costs will include appropriate insurance coverage. If anyone is in the Spokane area they are welcome to come by and try it. Just contact me via message here.
